Dr. Madhavan Thuppal is an adult, child and adolescent licensed psychiatrist who provides medication management in our Forest Hills and Connellsville office who specializes in addiction medicine and adolescent medicine. Dr. Thuppal completed his M.B.B.S courses at S.V. Medical College and Sri Venkateswara University, D.P.M courses at Madurai Medical College and Madurai Kamaraj University, M.D courses at Madurai Medical College and Madurai Kamaraj University, Certificate courses in Neuropediatric and Developmental Neurology at Duetsche Akademie for Entwicklungs- Rehabilitation E.V., and M. Ed (Special Education) courses at University of Alberta. He did his Adult Psychiatry residency and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at State University of New York at Stony Brook. Has passed several board examinations including American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Thuppal has received 5 awards during schooling, and has 38 journal papers and 24 research papers published. He is a member of 6 affiliations including Pittsburgh Regional Organization of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Thuppal has a total of 30+ years’ experience and in addition to joining our team as our Medical Director, he is the current Medical Director for Southwestern Human Services located in Pittsburgh.

Lindsay joined our team as a Family Based Therapist in 2014. She completed the Family Based State Training Program, becoming a Certified Family Based Therapist in 2017. Lindsay holds a bachelor of science degree in human development and family studies from The Pennsylvania State University and is currently working towards a master’s degree in social work from California University of Pennsylvania. Lindsay has worked in the mental health field with children and adolescents for over 7 years. Lindsay has obtained countless training and certifications including trauma informed care, autism, and suicide prevention.

Joe joined our team as a Behavioral Consultant Specialist (BSC) and a Mobile Therapist (MT) in 2014. He became the Program Director in January 2018. He is currently an outpatient therapist, BSC and MT as well as the Program director. Joe holds a Masters of Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania. He has 11 years of mental health service experience. He began in the mental health field as a Certified Peer Specialist in 2008. He has worked with adults and children during his 11 years of experience. Joe has been a presenter in different seminars for mental health recovery throughout Pennsylvania. One of his favorite phrases is from the movie “National Treasure”… “I didn't fail, I found 2,000 ways how not to make a light bulb; I only need to find one way to make it work.” He uses this phrase to remind himself that failure only happens when you stop trying.
